"To begin with, Andrea Valle's "Sopra l'archibuglar in valle" lures you in
with a noisescape textured by the presence of computery blips. Sascha
Neudeck, another artists on this 2 disc comp, uses heavier quantities of
experimental computer mutterings with phases into the static noise realm.
Gee, and I'm only up to the second artist on the first disc. So, no, I can't
tell you about every creative explorer of the avant garde appearing here.
But I can give you some peeks. "Bath Water" by eien is remarkably deserving
of its name. The rhythms are neo-tribal but the actual sounds come across as
what water dripping musically would sound like in, say, the world of Tron,
or some other cyber universe. Some artists lean more toward the REALLY
experimental stuff, with bubbles of generated sound urping forth so quietly
I can guarantee you'll be twiddling with the volume knob. It's okay, they're
just funnin' with you! Seriously, one of these tracks, by Paul Yates, could
almost function as the minimalist soundtrack to a space horror film. Yet for
meditative appeal, it's not lacking. Depends on your context. Wow. And I've
only sampled disc one for you. There's a whole other disc of goodies to hear
I don't have space to tell you about. Guess you'll just have to buy the
album huh? Go ahead ... it won't hurt ... it might expand your mind ... but
it won't hurt."
